Rep. Hammer and Sen. Hutchinson Participate in School Shooting Simulation

Sen. Jeremy Hutchinson and Rep. Kim Hammer recently participated in a school-based “active shooter” simulation organized by the Benton Police Department. “It was intense, enlightening and when we weren’t being shot, it was fun,” said Sen. Hutchinson.  “I learned how little I knew about school safety.”

Law enforcement agencies in Saline County have boosted police presence at schools following the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, CT.  Officers also continue training for active shooter situations while working with school officials to review safety policies and procedures.
