About Kim

Kim HammerRep. Kim Hammer of Benton is serving his second term in the Arkansas House of Representatives.  He represents District 28, which includes part of Saline County.

For the 89th General Assembly, Rep. Hammer serves on the Public Health, Welfare and Labor Committee, the City, County and Local Affairs Committee and Legislative Joint Auditing Committee.

For the 88th General Assembly, Rep. Hammer served on the House Committee for Aging, Children and Youth, Legislative and Military Affairs, where he was vice-chair of  the Subcommittee on Legislative, Military, and Veterans Affairs.  He also served on the Legislative Joint Auditing Committee, where he was vice-chair of the State Agencies Subcommittee.  In addition, Rep. Hammer served on the House Judiciary Committee.

Rep. Hammer was raised in Damascus, Arkansas.  He graduated from Southside High School in Bee Branch, and Trinity College of Bible in Newburgh, Indiana.  He works as hospice chaplain at Saline Memorial Hospital.  He has been involved with several community organizations, including the Benton Booster Club and Reward Sports Ministries. He received the Minute Man Award from the Arkansas National Guard, and the Pinnacle Award from MSMS in Little Rock.

In his spare time, Rep. Hammer enjoys hunting and fishing.  He and his wife, Karen, attend the Saline Missionary Baptist Church where he serves as Pastor.  They have three children and three grandchildren.
